// The history of the "ee" project This includes not just the past, but also the present and future of the project. Past The code started as a 16 bit DOS program, by Douglas Thomson and Frank Davis, which was released into the public domain. Walt Mendenhall started making some improvements in May of 1992. In 2001 through 2004 the code was made object-oriented. It has become like the Tin Woodsman, in not having any of its original parts left. It runs in a command-line window within Microsoft Windows, but there is not much connection with Windows ( e.g., no mouse or clipboard support ). Present There are no known bugs. More tests are needed in the automated testing. Future Some possible enhancements are listed in the maintenance manual and in the spcifications.
